Already own the helmet? We happily paint customer helmets — but quote first, post later. We assess whether your helmet is suitable before you send it anywhere, then confirm the price and how to get it to us.

Custom commissions follow the seven steps below. Shop orders take a shortcut: the listing already answers the quote questions and the checkout replaces the deposit, so steps 2 and 4 simply don't apply.
Pick a design from the shop, or tell us what you're dreaming of — an existing Blaze design, an adapted one, your own artwork, or an original concept. Send references, colours, wording and anything that must be in the artwork.
For commissions we check the helmet side of things — availability and size if we're supplying it, condition and suitability if you're sending yours — and come back with a personalised quote.
Shop orders skip this step — the listing tells you what's included.
We shape your idea into the artwork plan. If you'd like to see it before committing, ask for a design mockup — details below. It's optional, and the fee is credited against your final order.
A 50% deposit secures every custom commission and books your slot. The remaining balance isn't due until you've seen and approved the finished artwork.

Your helmet goes on the bench and the artwork is airbrushed by hand, layer by layer. See the case studies for how designs come together in the studio.
Before the final clear coat goes on, you receive photographs of the finished artwork to look over. Nothing is sealed until you're happy.
Once you approve the artwork, the balance is settled, your helmet gets its agreed gloss or matte finish, and it's carefully packed and dispatched to you.

Enquire about a design mockupPay in full at the checkout, exactly as on any online shop. No deposit, no balance — the price in the listing is the price you pay for the helmet and artwork described.

Production takes approximately 7 weeks from your deposit being paid. That's an estimate rather than a promise — complexity and the studio's queue vary through the year — and production time is separate from shipping time. If you're sending your own helmet, the estimate assumes it reaches the studio promptly after booking.
We deliver worldwide — helmets leave Derby for customers across the globe. Depending on your destination we ship with FedEx, UPS and other major carriers, and the cost depends on your order and location.
